Role: Technical Buyer
Reporting to: Procurement Manager
Overall Objective: To ensure effective purchasing and management of materials
Hours: 39 hours per week
Responsibilities & Duties
• Ensure day-to-day supplier management and deliveries.
• Keep supplier documentation updated (Supplier data sheet, certificates of conformance, contracts etc.)
• Ensure the incoming quality of delivered products.
• Organize the sourcing of new items when necessary.
• Manage couriers and shipping.
• Custom clearance.
• Negotiate contracts, purchasing terms and conditions for purchased components.
• Propose supplier development actions or corrective actions.
• Benchmark all key suppliers on specific commodities.
• Prepare negotiation meetings with suppliers.
• Ensure all weekly and monthly reporting is completed on time.
• Ensure monthly spend targets are met for all commodities.
• Validate Purchase Orders.
• Create and update open purchases on system.
• Ensure the implementation of quality requirements (ISO).
• Any other duties as reasonably required.
Qualifications & Experience
• 3rd Level qualification in Procurement / Supply Chain Management or equivalent desirable.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes and ERP systems.
• 3+ years previous experience as a Buyer or related position preferably in manufacturing.
• Technical knowledge of purchasing raw materials (metals) & finishes/coating is essential.
