Role: Quality Technician
Qualifications & Experience
At least 2 years relevant industry experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of the importance of a robust calibration system for inspection equipment
Relevant diploma in Quality/Science or Engineering would be advantageous but is not essential
Person/Skills Required
A competence in the use of a broad range of precision inspection instruments
Ability to converse in both imperial and metric measuring systems
Communication – both written and verbal communication skills are necessary
Attention to detail – precision is essential in this role; the smallest details must be noted and acted upon when necessary
Coordination – will be working with a range of manufacturing equipment, conducting calibrations in accordance to calibration schedule
Team working – must work closely with colleagues
IT skills – data entry and database use are an important part of the job
Main responsibilities
Calibration of various gauges and hand-held inspection equipment/devices
Management of the process for external calibration of gauges and equipment
Organising and managing of external contractors to carry out calibration on site
Reviewing of calibration results and updating of calibration databases
Sourcing of new or replacement equipment and registering onto the calibration system
Maintaining calibration records, databases, reviewing of calibration results to determine whether equipment is at the correct standard or, if repair or replacement is required
Any other duties as reasonably required in support of the quality department activities such as in-process, incoming and final inspection.
