Role: Engineering Manager
Overall Objective: As the Engineering Manager you will drive and lead the engineering department, managing a team of qualified and experienced engineers of all levels to promote the development of our world class engineering team.
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Responsibilities & Duties
• Responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering for the business and providing support to customers
• Direct and manage a team of engineers in the performance of their respective responsibilities
• Guide, coach and develop the Engineering team, fostering a diverse working environment that enables team members to reach their full potential whilst contributing to organisational objectives
• Provide leadership and drive the successful introduction of new products, ensuring a consistent and efficient process
• Oversee the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies, including initiation of ‘trouble shooting’ improvements for production, when required
• Along with your team of engineers, identify and implement improvements to equipment, processes, and methods, guide the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines or products
• Demonstrate a commitment to product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures
• Work with relevant functions and other operational managers to deliver business objectives, grow and nurture cross site and cross functional relationships
• Prepare, maintain, and communicate Engineering performance reports to senior management
• Drive project management within the Engineering team
• Identify and drive improvement initiatives to reduce costs e.g. cycle times reduction and on-time delivery improvements and support operations capacity improvement projects
• Responsible for applying, maintaining, and improving lean manufacturing procedures
• Perform other managerial tasks
• Any other duties as reasonably required
Qualifications & Experience
• The ideal candidate will hold a third level Engineering qualification or equivalent
• At least 6 years industry experience at Engineer level in the manufacturing sector, with at least 3 years at a senior level
• CNC experience advantageous
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement implementation
